DON'T LET EXTREMIST USE RACE & RELIGION TO DIVIDE MALAYSIANS! IT WILL HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON OUR ECONOMY

As Malaysians living in a multi-racial and multi-religious society, we should always respect the right of others to differ, that we will never lose sight of our own fallibility, and that we will view ourselves and others with a sense of perspective said the Chairman of Majlis Gagasan Malaysia, Manivannan Rethinam

He added, the religious or non-religious “Silent” majority do not want to see religion or faith being used as a tool to attack or divide Malaysians. It ravages the nation of its moral and intellectual resources.

Racial and other forms of polarisation are the biggest hindrance to national unity and it should be the responsibility of all Malaysians to reject racial polarisation in whatever form that is detrimental to national unity.

He further added, that some the politicians have been the biggest culprits in nation-destroying rather than nation-building. There are more and more extremist who are continuing their attempt to set against Muslims and non-Muslims.

Manivannan who is also the Vice Chairman of MIC National Information highlighted, even though it is hard to determine the level of political stress these race and religion issues are having on our society and how they would act out in the near future. We can be sure should the race and religious tension deepens, it will bring an adverse effect to our economic front and derailing our Malaysian vision 2020 to be a developed Nation.

He concluded by saying, it is the responsibility of all Malaysians to take a firm stand against divisive forces that can tear apart our social fabric and cause disunity. We must reject the racial and religious extremists who incite racial and religious hatred, and stand together to rise above politics and unite as Malaysians in working towards building our multi-racial nation into a united Malaysian.

Stand Up, Speak Out and Unite as Malaysians.
